This TV personality and designer, who started off on MTV’s The Hills and showed us how to make it in The City, has been making her mark on the fashion world ever since her TV debut. With her very own designer line, “Whitney Eve”, Whitney Port has transcended the title of red-carpet fashionista and entered the world of creativity and design, bringing her own personal style to wardrobes all over the world.
If you’ve ever seen Whitney in a picture, on TV, or even just encountered some of her pieces, you will know that she loves blazers. From metallics to neutrals to patterns, Whitney knows how to rock a blazer by pairing it with a miniskirt, a basic dress, or even a tailored pair of shorts. Sophistication is the name of the game for this staple of Port’s and it is definitely a trend we see for this fall! Take a hint from Miss Port and invest in a chic blazer for an element of class in your wardrobe.
As far as colors go, if Whitney is dressed in basics, she is often seen in mostly dark or neutral colors with a sudden pop of color to balance it out. But she also loves prints, which vary her color scheme entirely and present a more youthful look of pastels, bright florals and patterns. Here we see Whitney exhibiting an age-old style icon technique: Don’t stick to a style for too long! Experimenting with style and switching it up now and then never hurts Whitney and it definitely won’t hurt you.
Finally, Whitney always arrives on the red carpet with just the perfect amount of accessories. While some celebrities go for the razzle-dazzle route, Whitney teaches us that sometimes less is more. When she does present a striking piece of jewelry or a phenomenal shoe, Whitney never overdoes it, always careful to select just the statement accessory that will add positively to her outfit.
Most of all, we see that Whitney has fun with her style. She is a professional and a celebrity, but she embraces her youthful appearance. The way she pulls off her looks with ease makes her followers know that she enjoys every part of dressing up and styling, a fact that makes her perhaps one of the most likeable style icons of our generation.
