New modeling agency aimed at Muslim women

Underwraps, a modeling agency, is planning on opening next week at the New York Fashion Week.  The company’s goal is to promote fashion, while adhering to the codes of modesty practiced by many Muslim women.  Usually, dressing modestly means covering all areas of the body except the face, hands, and feet.

After a 30-year departure from the company, Jennifer will once again become the spokeswoman for Shiseido, a beauty products company.  When she was the spokeswoman back in the ‘80s, she was only marketing a line of products for Japan.  Today, Shiseido announced she will be the global spokeswoman for the company’s new line Future Solution LX.

Jenner Girls on the cover of Teen Vogue 

The Jenner Girls (younger sisters of the Kardashians) are gracing the cover of Teen Vogue.  They are breaking out from their older, more famous sisters and making a name for themselves.  Check out the cover photo here.

Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue

Vanity Fair released a preview of their Hollywood Issue this week featuring the most noteworthy, new actresses of this past year.  This issue features Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling.  All of them are done up in designer dresses with an old, glamorous Hollywood theme.

Customized Vans slip-ons to raise money towards high school art programs

Vans has teamed up with some celebrities to design a line of slip-ons.  Kristen Stewart, Conan O’Brien and Peter Som are a few of the designers, bloggers, actors and celebrities that have designed shoes to raise money for high school art programs.  High-school teens also have a chance to design some slip-ons to win $50,000 for their high-school’s art program.  Check out the shoes here.

Alberta Ferretti to design for Macy’s Impulse Line

Alberta Ferretti is the newest designer to collaborate with Macy’s for Macy’s Impulse Line.  Ferretti is known for feminine designs, and the fashion powerhouse will be bringing these designs to the line.  The line will be available on April 17.  See two preview sketches here.
