With just a few weeks left in the semester, every student is itching for the chance to run outside and enjoy summer vacation. Although I had an amazing time visiting London for a week over spring break, the 45 degree average weather left much to be desired.
Thankfully, Los Angeles was waiting to greet me with open arms and a high of 75 degrees when I returned home. So what was my first course of action the minute I landed home? Enjoy the sun from the roof of my apartment, of course!
As I soaked up the sun on my concrete paradise, I realized I needed a fruity beach drink to make the picture complete. For a taste of the tropics, I always reach for pineapple.
The Bay Breeze isn’t a very popular drink to order at your evening bar, but it is a staple for beach goers everywhere. This simple cocktail can make even the ickiest asphalt parking lot seem like a tropical oasis.
1.5 oz vodka
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz cranberry juice
lime slice and/or pineapple slice, for garnish
Pour the vodka into a highball glass filled with ice. Pour in the pineapple and cranberry juices. Give the drink a quick stir. Garnish with a lime and/or pineapple slice.
