After breaking into a not-so-subtle jog in order to catch up with Susan, and then us both nearly getting killed by an oncoming pick-up, I finally stopped her on the railroad tracks [much safer] on Spring Street to discuss her (literally) traffic-stopping wardrobe.
Neon, nautical and nail art may be what’s “in” this spring, but there’s something to be said for the timeless simplicity that is high-waisted jeans, a button-down shirt and a leather jacket.
Susan here is flawless, and her well-tailored ensemble stood out among the streets full of loose-fitting sweats and baggy tees.
When I asked her what she keeps in mind while getting dressed, she cited style, comfort and a desire to be “individual on a budget.” What a wonderful comment. I mean, after all, isn’t that what we all want? To be a stylish, not-broke version of ourselves?
