It’s hard to explain what makes a perfect IPA. Descriptions like “ridiculously hoppy”, “super fresh” and “perfectly” balanced hardly do beers like Bell’s Hopslam justice, failing to capture that indefinable wow factor that so few other beers posses. I can’t tell you exactly why it’s one of the best beers in the world, so do yourself a favor and go out and try Hopslam before its gone–which will be in a week or two. You may be shocked by the price (16.99/six pack), but if you think about it, three bucks for one of the best IPAs out there, along with a solid 10% ABV, really isn’t too bad.
