With New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear shows well under way, many designers have previewed what they believe are the up-and-coming styles of the season. Although shows will continue through the 14th, there are already a number of collections to review!

We read earlier in this year about Greg Chait’s line, The Elder Statesman, which saw an incredible rise in popularity after the young designer won the prestigious CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund. For Fall 2013, Chait featured knitwear neutrals with pops of colors, producing functional pieces that one could wear for years without feeling dated.

Zac Posen’s runway took place on a dramatically deep burgundy carpet with golden rails, which fit his collection’s dramatic gem and chocolate tones perfectly. With touches of lace overlays and perfectly tailored pants, the designer adeptly showcased the beauty of his designs.

Cynthia Rowley chose to present her latest line in her new store in uptown Manhattan. Rowley played around with ideas mixing fashion and a candy shop, and was quoted as saying, “it is nothing more than an invitation from our imagination.” Pieces to note include almost translucent shades, crisp whites and stunning blacks. For many looks, Rowley proved her abilities with precision with amazingly detailed dark tights, deep colored lips and leather cutout gloves.

Staying true to her edgy style with a twist, Rebecca Minkoff’s show was deemed a success. Using wearable, everyday pieces alongside leathers and plaids, the designer showed all she had. Minkoff played with simple silhouettes as well as beautifully structured sleeves, and used a color palette with large amounts of dark options, along with a few pops of brights.

After a very successful year, thanks to the opening of her flagship store and the launch of shoe and jewelry lines, it is fair to say Monique Lhuillier has been busy. Yet, she was still able to produce a stunning ready-to-wear fall collection. Featuring blasts of emerald, deep reds and amazingly detailed lace, the pieces are mesmerizing.
