In the city of Madison, runway shows are few and far between. But this Wednesday, Rêve, an event planning company, will host a runway show unlike this city has ever seen.
Anne Marie Martin, producer of Rêve Runway, hopes to “bring fashion, music, shopping, beauty, and social media together into one giant event.”
Unlike the average runway show, Rêve intends to integrate social media directly into the evening. Lead by “Look Sharp Sconnie’s” Fashion Blogger GaBrielle Pedriani, who will live tweet throughout the evening, guests will be encouraged to engage in social media and communicate through the Twitter hashtag, “#TheFashionExperience.”
“Most shows ask you to turn off and put away your cell phone,” says Martin. “I am asking you to get it out!”
The local designers include GG Collections, Lu Anders Boutique, Middleton Dress Company, Moda Muñeca, NEWD Clothing Company, Sovrin Apparel, The Soho Market, Velvet Button Boutique, Z. Bella Boutique and Zip-Dang/OrangyPorangy.
After the show, attendees will have access to an indoor fashion bazaar, complete with pop up shops and fitting rooms. Guests will also have the opportunity to pamper themselves with a microdermabrasion machine courtesy of True Laser and a pop-up salon courtesy of Rejuvenation Spa.
This multi-faceted soiree will celebrate not only fashion, but also music and beauty. Models’ hair and make up will be by Rejuvenation Spa and Sexy Ester, a local alternative band, will play live during the bazaar.
“The Fashion Experience” will take place Wednesday, November 20 in the Great Hall at the Memorial Union. Tickets are $22 for general admission and $16 for students, online only.
