Warm up with Spring’s Hottest Shades

by Joe McKee, Lifestyle Writer

Spring is here, and what better way to welcome the season than with vibrant colors! This season we’re welcoming in some bright eye shadows and warm lip colors that will blow away your winter blues. Whether you decide to be full glam or subtle and flirty, be bold and test out some new colors this spring.

This spring, pastels are the new black. Use one of Colourpop’s Crème Gel Liners as an eyelid primer. Try Zulu, Prance or Teaspoon for extra color payoff. Set the liner by patting on a colorful eye shadow like MakeupGeek’s Phantom, a beautiful soft white with violet reflects, or Colourpop’s Belladonna Lily, a bright pastel aqua. Beauty guru, PatrickStarr, uses some of these colors in his Teal Glitter Smokey Eye tutorial.

If you feel that’s too much color, try a subtle approach: use a bright orange shadow on the lid like Too Faced’s Candied Peach from the new Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette, and line the waterline with a pastel blue. Test out MakeupGeek’s new eyeliner pencils in Mint, or Colourpop’s eyeliner pencil in Zulu. Check out Mariah Leonard’s Vibrant Pastel Ombre tutorial for inspiration!

Stick to pink shades this spring. Anastasia Beverly Hills recently released eight new matte liquid lipsticks in their 2016 spring collection. These shades are mainly pink-based nudes with an electric pink, Rio, and brilliant magenta, Madison. Combined with ABH’s flawless formula, these shades are sure to keep your lips fun and flirty for spring. Jeffree Star (below) is wearing Dolce and Naked.
