Bernie Sanders is still hot on the political scene, and his influence has spread to the runway. Balenciaga’s designer, Demna Gvasalia, paid tribute to the former democratic presidential nominee by incorporating his campaign logo design into the Men’s F/W 2017 collection, the iconic red and blue wave, according to Dazed. Symbolic Color Choices at the Presidential Inauguration

A First Lady’s inauguration gown choice is more important than one might think. It must look soft yet powerful, and the color choice is essential to represent the nation as a whole. First Lady Melania Trump opted for a pastel blue cashmere ensemble which, according to Dr. Dong Shen, a professor of Fashion and Merchandise at California State, represents loyalty and trust. Michelle Obama, former First Lady, donned a deep scarlet red gown which symbolizes fiery passion and energy. Both President Obama and President Trump wore the traditional black and white suit with a tie the color of their respective, representative party. It is interesting to see the alternating color combination between the two presidential duos, as each pair incorporated both red and blue into their outfits.

Junya Watanabe x The North Face

Another high-end and street wear fashion collaboration! Following the much anticipated Louis Vuitton x Supreme show, Junya Watanabe has collaborated with The North Face to bring a 90’s inspired, retro-sport fashion to the runway. The Men’s F/W 2017 collection is heavy with bomber jackets, patches and leather.
