Maria Grazia Chiuri’s First Dior Show

Maria Grazia Chiuri, after working for Valentino for 8 years, just held her first haute couture Dior show in Paris as the fashion house’s new creative director, according to The Business of Fashion. Acknowledging past Dior work, Chiuri put her own vision into the new collection: a fairy tale rooted in reality. In the words of the fashion editor at The Business of Fashion, Tim Blanks, “Chiuri drew a line from Valentino’s pale princesses to Dior’s winsome Titianas. Some of it worked, some not so.”

She has been an influential figure in the fashion world and her decision of leaving British Vogue will definitely impact the magazine. On the bright side, we’re excited to see what direction Alexandra Shulman decides to go.

Some may guess that Gucci is featuring only black models for its 2017 pre-fall campaign. We don’t know what Gucci is planning exactly, but this campaign is one that would reaffirm the idea of diversity in the fashion industry.
