Grammys 2017 Best Dressed List

by Geordon Wollner, Fashion Writer

Just like that, the biggest night in music has come and gone. Some people watch solely for the music, some watch to see their star-crush (ahem, hello, Nick Jonas) and others watch for the fashion. If there’s one thing we can count on from the Grammys, technical difficulties and celebrity controversies aside, it’s a red carpet full of surprises. From traditional gowns to not-so-traditional sheer mini dresses, the Grammys red carpet had it all.

Here are a few looks we loved:

Kelsea Ballerini

Country singer Kelsea Ballerini captivated us with a Ines Di Santo gown. Embellished with an elegant and romantic floral motif, this gown was perhaps the most traditional to walk the red carpet. The nude tulle and train, in addition to her soft makeup and simple hair, instantly transformed Ballerini into a real-life princess for her Grammy debut.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum turned more than a few heads (as usual) in a sheer, silver Philipp Plein dress. Straying from the traditional floor length gown, the supermodel confidently showed off her impressive figure in this silver mini.

Lady Gaga

Since her performance at the Super Bowl, Lady Gaga’s figure has been a hot topic. After appearing on the red carpet in a less-than-half jacket, cleavage showing, fishnets on and Gaga-esque platform boots, the haters have nothing more to say. We applaud Gaga for remaining true to herself and being confident in her own skin. Body Shamers = Silenced.

Solange Knowles

Clearly Solange Knowles, younger sister to Beyoncé, was given the Midas touch as she walked the red carpet in a gold Gucci gown. Complete with pleated detail and structured ruffles, this look comes across as borderline traditional and borderline a work of art. We’d like to think this choice was subtle nod to Yoncé’s performance.

Charli XCX

Charli XCX, another star to opt for a more traditional look, chose a red, sleeveless Vivienne Westwood gown with a deep sweetheart neckline and brocade pattern. Two words to describe this look? Effortless and elegant.

Though she skipped the red carpet, Queen Bey stunned in a red floor length sequin gown by Peter Dundas. Yoncé may be pregnant with twins (!!!), but that in no way kept her from looking drop dead gorgeous and giving us an incredible performance – in true Bey fashion, of course.
