The Best Makeup of the Grammys

Another Grammy Awards season has come, gone and left us with a multitude of stunning beauty and fashion looks to admire. There are both dramatic and simple options to choose from, and each look will help you conquer the day and feel confident in your skin. Every one of these four looks is guaranteed to win you a gold statue of your own – or at least make you look deserving of one.

Geometric Goals

Laverne Cox stole the show in an attention-grabbing smoky eye. To copy the look, use black or dark gray eyeliner, such as the L’oreal Silkissime Eyeliner, to draw a continuous line around your top and bottom lash lines. Then, use the same liner to extend into a cat eye. Fill in the empty space with a steel-colored eyeshadow, and add a few layers of mascara. To bring some bling, use lash glue or face adhesive to attach a few silver and black sequins on top of the eyeshadow. Complete the look with contoured cheeks from the Anastasia Contour Kit and a dab of brown blush. Swipe on your favorite dark, nude lipstick, and dazzle your admirers.

Pretty in Pink

Channel your inner flower power with Lea Michele’s bubblegum pink lids and lips. Dip a fluffy eyeshadow brush into a magenta shade, like the Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Woodstock, and blend it to your brow bone. The trick to this look is adding a small amount of black eyeliner to the upper inner rim of your eye. This will better define your eyes without needing mascara. Make sure to use a brow-defining product, such as the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel, to create even more definition. Add neutral blush to sculpt your cheeks, then smooth on creamy, petal-pink lipstick (the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Claudia is stunning) for a wearable, runway-inspired look.

Bare Beauty

Contrasting the slew of dramatic looks, Halsey kept cool in minimalistic makeup. Her look is the perfect inspiration for every day. Start out by using a hydrating primer, tinted moisturizer or BB cream to even out your skin tone. A budget-friendly option is the Garnier BB Cream. Dab shimmery white or champagne shadow in the inner corners of your eyes, then line the upper inner rims with brown or black eyeliner. Finish off by applying layers of mascara or a row of false lashes. To get natural-looking, dewy skin, use liquid highlighter, such as the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid, down the bridge of your nose and on the center of your chin. Pale-pink blush and tinted lip balm are the perfect finishing touches for this sophisticated style.

Bronze Babe

Demi Lovato was a golden goddess in her sunny makeup. Get the glow with matte bronzer applied to your temples, forehead, cheeks, nose and jaw line. The Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer will give you the perfect warmth, and it has a chocolate scent. Apply a shimmery highlighter, like the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder, to your cheeks and Cupid’s bow for extra shine. Then, emphasize your eyes with a blend of chocolate-colored eye shadow all over your lids. Add black eyeliner to your lower and upper lash lines for definition, followed by tons of mascara to make your lashes stand out. Do not forget to define your brows with tinted gel, and apply nude or pink lip gloss for extra glow.

Any one of these four beauty looks is perfect for day-to-day errands, date nights or hanging out with your friends. Regardless of what look you recreate, do so with confidence. You may not have a team of makeup artists to help you get ready in the morning, but you can still look as beautiful as the red carpet stars. The most important step in your beauty routine is to add a dash of confidence.
