Fashion News Recap: H&M, LVMH Finalists and Rihanna’s SS17 Fenty Collection

H&M Launches New Brand, Arket
This time it’s for the home! H&M is to release a home and family essentials brand this Fall of 2017. The brand is called Arket, which means “paper” in Swedish. Creative director Ulrika Bernhardtz told Business of Fashion the brand represents ‘a fresh new beginning’ and the products will be based on clean Nordic style. The first shop will open on Regent Street in London.
The Finalists of the LVMH Prize: Molly Goddard & AMBUSH
The LMVH prize is a prestigious fashion award created to honor and support young fashion designers and includes a gift of 300,000 euros as well as a year’s mentorship from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs. The first finalist, Molly Goddard is a young designer from the UK who graduated from Central Saint-Martins. Her magical, frilly creations have been worn by fashion icons Rihanna and Susie Lau (Dazed Digital). AMBUSH, the second finalist, is a jewelry and clothing label created by the dynamic-duo from Tokyo – hip hop artist, Verbal, and his wife, Yoon, a graphic designer. Pharrell, G-Dragon and the Weeknd are some of the many fans of this label. The winner is to be announced June 16th.
Rihanna’s SS17 Fenty Collection is Finally on the Market
RiRi i is always killing it with her Fenty collections. The SS17 assemblage, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week last year, is full of pink lacy details combined with straps, laces and hoods. The prices are steep, but the collection is going fast per usual. You can now buy the pieces at puma.com.
