EmBark: Where Care Meets Action

A student-led movement supporting survivors and strengthening Madison’s community.

Written by Emily Hokanson

EmBark supports survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and more through fundraising, community outreach and spreading awareness! Since launching the UW-Madison chapter in 2021, the student organization has been making a meaningful impact across campus and throughout the Madison community.

From hands-on volunteer opportunities with local nonprofits like Felicia’s Donation Closet and Shelter From the Storm, to creative fundraising events like working concession stands, teaming up with local businesses like Moon Bar and more. EmBark shows up where it matters.

The club provides a space to have open conversations about domestic violence, common misconceptions about abuse and ways students can support survivors. EmBark continues to bring a sense of community to campus and its members!
