Plane Simple: Airport Style

By Hamayail Ansari, Guest Fashion Writer

Traveling is one of the best ways to spend break. You’re with friends and family, you have no obligations whatsoever because school is the last thing on your mind and you’re going somewhere! Although traveling can be fun, between the jet lag and potentially long layovers, looking your best may not be the easiest feat to overcome. Luckily, a few celebrities have mastered the airport style by simultaneously maintaining comfort and effortless style. Each celeb has a unique style, so to find one that resonates with your own personal taste is simple. Check out this selection of my favorite looks for some inspiration for your next flight!

Emma Watson: Bombshell Beauty

From Hermione to Belle, Emma Watson has yet to fail in her style game. Though black is the classic go-to for the airport no matter what the destination, Emma changes it up by creating a sporty look. By incorporating a bomber jacket into her toned-down look, she emulates a chic style that complements her neutral makeup and simple accessory pieces.

Taylor Swift: Pretty in Prep

No one would argue that Taylor Swift is the Queen of Vintage style, even at the airport. I love her choice of oxfords to add to her preppy vibe and style (not to mention comfort!). A button-down is a great choice for the chilly airport, but showing the world you’re ready for Spring with a color palette of pastels. Her satchel is my favorite part though because it not only perfectly completes the vintage look, but is also a perfect carry-on size for your laptop and other necessities!

Emily Ratajkowski: Overall Classic

Overalls are back, but depending on your styling they can either be a hit or miss. Emily Ratajkowski’s comfy and casual look is definitely a hit for your next flight! Although she opts for a palette of neutrals, her outfit stands out with the playful pairing of a crop top and overalls. The light overcoat is perfect to double as a blanket for when your flight gets delayed!

Miranda Kerr: High Expectations

I love bodycon dresses mostly because they look fabulous, but are can be just as comfortable as pajamas if you opt for a knit fabric. To elevate her look even further, Miranda Kerr adds a pair of thigh high boots that make her look ready for a night out the moment she steps off the plane.

Selena Gomez: Cape Comfort

Selena Gomez is always a show stopper. We’re loving her “cape-like” poncho paired here with a simple button-down. This classy look is the epiphany of style because it takes a unique advantage of the black and white color scheme. The poncho basically serves as a blanket, but emulates a chic look rather than a lazy one!

Seohyun: Lots of Culottes

Korean fashion is so fashionable and very put-together, especially Seohyun’s! Her styles are always ever-changing and unique, though this airport look would have to be at the top of the list. I love the incorporation of culottes because they are as comfortable as sweats, but perfect for breezy Spring weather. Her form fitting top contrasts the loose fit of the culottes, creating a sophisticated yet youthful look.
