Street Smart: Stylish Comfort
by Victoria Fok, Fashion Writer
Ever since the beginning of the semester, fashion has been all about comfort. Yet when comfort is the main focus of an ensemble, style is often sacrificed. This season, yoga pants seem to be the go-to look for the average student, but in a sea of sweats-clad classmates it can be difficult to truly stand out.
However as I was walking out of Chadbourne on Sunday afternoon I spotted Gretta, a UW-Madison freshman who was wearing a unique and chic ensemble perfect for those notorious lazy days. Donning a black slouchy sweater, a pair of printed harem pants, and white sandals, Gretta’s look was comfortable and effortless yet stylish nonetheless. The epitome of fashionable ease, Gretta’s harem pants were the most notable part of her look. Definitely a staple for this semester, harem pants yield the comfort of yoga pants without sacrificing style. Throwing on an oversized sweater added warmth and comfort to her outfit, completing her simple-yet-chic ensemble that would be perfect for class or a day studying at the library.
