We all know how hard it is to wake up in the morning for classes and actually put in the effort to look presentable. However, looking good does not have to be hard—finding styles that are easy and look amazing can be simple, with a little hacking.

These four hairstyle ideas will take you, at most, five minutes to do in the morning and will make you look like you actually care―what could be better?

The Half-up French Braid

This half-up french braid is a perfect hairstyle for when you want to avoid the constant annoyance of moving your hair out of your face. Instead of just throwing your hair back in a messy ponytail or plain braid, try this style to spice up your daily look.

1. Section off your hair into a top half and a bottom half
2. Tie back the bottom half
3. Loosely french braid the top half by splitting it into 3 sections. Weave these 3 sections over one another, one by one, and add small pieces of hair into the weave from the remaining mass of hair
4. Tie the braid off at ear level
5. Pull out some front sections of your hair to make the braid more casual and messy

Half-up Bun

If you love the idea of half-up hair but don’t like braids, this one is perfect for you. It takes less time than the half-up braid and requires no braiding skills whatsoever. The key to success for this hairstyle is not being afraid to be messy.

1. Section off your hair into a top half and a bottom half
2. Tie the top half up into a messy bun
3. Pull out the front sections of hair

Half-up Playful Ponytail

This half-up style, the simplest out of the three, will make you feel flawless in no-time. This look is perfect for game days, studying at the library, or even going out for a nice dinner. It’s the quickest and easiest way to add style and personality to any look.

1. Section off your hair into a top half and a bottom half
2. Tie the top half up into a high ponytail
3. Tighten the ponytail and pull it towards the top of your head
4. While tightening the ponytail, pull out the front sections of hair

Messy Low Bun

This messy low bun is perfect for sweaty gym sessions or an afternoon in the library doing homework. It gets your hair out of your face and off your neck while also adding a classy touch. All it takes is a little twist and tie action and you are good to go!

1. Middle part your hair
2. Pull all your hair neatly to the back of your head
3. Tightly twist your hair in one direction
4. Start to curl it around to make the shape of a circle/bun
5. Warp a ponytail tightly around the low bun
6. Pull out the front pieces of hair
