The Overture Center for the Arts is hosting a photographic exhibit called “In A New Light”. “In A New Light” is a therapeutic, nature photography program carried out by children at Northwest Passage, a treatment facility for children with mental illness and behavioral disorders in Wisconsin. The participating children were trained in photography and immersed into nature to collect photographs, discovering a therapeutic discover of hope, inner strength, and empowerment in the process. Poetry and personal reflections by the child who took it accompany each photograph to relay their struggles and how they have coped with these struggles through nature. The exhibition at the Overture features the work from children of Dane County.

This exhibition tour has been viewed by thousands of people all over the country and now it’s your turn to experience this incredibly moving event.

The “In A New Light” exhibition is on display from September 6- October 28 in the Playhouse Gallery at the Overture Center for the Arts. Admission is free.
